State Parks Day Trip
For Rebecca’s birthday “experience” this year, we decided on a day trip to add three more state parks to our passport books.
There are 52 state parks in Arkansas. We are collecting stamps from each one we visit in a little passport book. If we ever collect all 52 stamps, we’ll receive a t-shirt! We are making slow progress, so I fully expect them to discontinue the program before we ever fill our books, but we are enjoying seeing how many we can get anyway.
Lake Dardanelle
Rebecca enjoyed getting to hold the turtles in the Visitor’s Center at Lake Dardanelle State Park near Russellville.
Mount Nebo
Mount Nebo State Park is at the top of a very winding, twisting road, and the views are spectacular.
Lake Ouachita
Lake Ouachita State Park was the one farthest from home that we visited on this trip.
Fall weather in Arkansas is lovely, and it was a beautiful day for a drive!
