June Adventures
During the month of June we mostly stayed close to home, though we did venture out for some fun day trips and evening activities. On the first Sunday of June we took a long drive through the Silver Valley following the route mapped out in our Roads Less Traveled Through the Coeur d’Alenes book. This was the Mining District tour…

May Adventures
Spring is my absolute favorite time of year. I love the long daylight hours and the fresh green everywhere, not to mention all the flowers that come in stages. First the crocuses and primroses, then the daffodils and tulips, followed by the irises and lilacs. The red tulips were especially lovely in the Children’s Garden across the street a few…

April Adventures
What a crazy spring it’s been, huh? I wanted to resume recapping our monthly adventures but, of course, we haven’t been able to get out and do many of the things we enjoy in the past few weeks. We have, however, managed to modify and make adjustments, just as you have. Lyle and I have a long-standing tradition of Saturday…

September Adventures
September whooshed by so fast around here! Did it for you, too? It wasn't quite so busy as the summer months but we still managed to pack a good bit in.

August Adventures

In Which We Visit Yellowstone…
In Which We Visit Yellowstone and Take Very Few Pictures! I'm working on compiling a list of museums, national parks, and other points of interest we have visited as a family. As I was working on my list I realized that a few important places were missing from my blog. For example, I knew we had visited Yellowstone. I couldn't…

When People Fly
As you may have noticed, we are big fans of road trips. Flying? Not so much. In fact, my family of four had never flown anywhere together until this past weekend. We’ve flown individually and in twos and threes, but never all four at once. Current circumstances are such that it just made sense this summer for us to fly,…

The Promise of Spring
It’s been a weird winter in our part of the country. December and January were relatively mild with not much snow and moderate temperatures. Instead we had winter all at once for the whole month of February with record-breaking snow fall and single digit/teen temperatures. It seems like the change to Daylight Saving Time last weekend may have flipped the…
