Game Review: Smart Dog
This review is for the Smart Dog Agility Course puzzle game from Smart Games.

Smart Dog Agility Course
Like most other Smart Games, Smart Dog is a single-player puzzle game. This one focuses on planning, logic, problem-solving, spatial insight, and concentration. It is recommended for ages seven and up.
What’s Included
Smart Dog includes a game board with a lid, a dog figurine, a dog trainer figurine, six obstacle puzzle pieces, and a booklet with 60 challenges and solutions.
How to Play
To play, choose a challenge from the booklet. As always, I recommend starting from Challenge 1, even if it is super easy. That helps familiarize yourself with the game so you understand what the challenge is asking for as you go along. Place the dog and trainer plus the provided obstacle course pieces on the board as shown on the challenge chart.
Once those pieces are in place your challenge is to place the remaining obstacle course pieces so there is a path from the dog to its trainer.
The most advanced level only shows you where to place the dog and trainer to start with. I have not yet worked my way up to that level.
My Thoughts
Have you ever watched dogs running through an obstacle course? They are so much fun to watch because the dogs always look like they are having such a good time. That premise for this thinking game makes me smile.
I love that it’s compact enough for travel. The clear plastic lid fits over the game board, and the challenge book fits inside. I plan to tuck it in my bag for an upcoming road trip and try to work my way through those upper levels.
We enjoy having Smart Dog on our game shelf as a single-player game for all ages.
