Sweet 16
Has it really been 16 years since I first held her in my arms that snowy January evening? It seemed we had waited so long… we had been married 7 years. That was a long time? Then tell me how 16 years could possibly have gone by so fast?
It is only a tiny rosebud–
A flower of God’s design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.
The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I–
The flower God opens so sweetly
In my hands would fade and die.
If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of God’s design,
Then how can I think I have wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?
So I’ll trust Him for His leading
Each moment of every day,
And I’ll look to Him for His guidance
Each step of the pilgrim way.
For the pathway that lies before me
My Heavenly Father knows–
I’ll trust Him to unfold the moments
Just as He unfolds the rose.

Such a beautiful cake, table decor, and poem. So true. I’m thankful we have our trust placed in Him and that we can trust Him with our precious children.
Happy Birthday to your sweet-16 gal!

Happy sweet 16. The years go by way too quickly, don’t they? Rachel turns 16 in March. Her cake is absolutely beautiful. Blessings to you today.

Karla,
Happy Birthday to your darling daughter!!! Lovely poem!
Karla! I am honored to take responsibility for your desire to learn to tat, LOL! However, you get to do all the work of learning and then you get to take all the credit for the beautiful things you are going to learn to make! If you would like to purchase one of Georgia’s shuttles I put the link to her website on the “Confessions of a tat-o-holic” post. Somewhere there should be her email address and you can contact her via email to find out more about the shuttles. Yes, a cheapie plastic one from Michael’s is all you need to make beautiful bits of tatted lace! 🙂 Good luck and I look forward to your progress!
CONGRATULATIONS for getting the FLIP!!! WOOOO HOOOO!
Toodles,
TattingChic! 🙂
