Review: Coloring Bible for Girls

I enjoy coloring and Bible journaling so I was interested to review the Beautiful Word Bible for Girls. I’m somewhat older than the target market of ages 8 to 12 but from what I could tell by looking at the pictures I didn’t see anything that I thought might be specific to that age range.

Once I received my review copy I discovered that my first impression was correct. This is a very nice coloring Bible for any age “girl.” The cover is bright pink with metallic silver polka dots but even that doesn’t scream “MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL!!” to me.

I thought maybe some of the coloring art might be somewhat juvenile, but no, not particularly. It’s very much what you would find in any “adult coloring book.”

I didn’t see any reason why I couldn’t claim this lovely Bible for myself.

So I did!

One thing I especially appreciate about this particular Bible is that the paper is thick enough that the coloring doesn’t bleed through to the other side.

I like to use a combination of colored pencils, Flair pens, and gel pens. I found that all of those mediums worked well with the paper.

The NIV Beautiful World Coloring Bible for Girls does include hundreds of illustrated verses throughout, but many margins are simply blank lines for journaling. Also the illustrations vary in size. Some fill a margin, some are a full page, and there are even a few double-page spreads.
