My Review

I’m a list-maker and a journal-keeper. I love writing by hand, and I’m always on the search for the next perfect journal or planner. I was drawn to the lovely cover of the Pour Out Your Heart Prayer Journal and was interested to find out what, beyond aesthetics, sets it apart from other prayer journals. I was pleasantly surprised.

Let me show you.

First of all, this journal isn’t simply a guided place to keep track of your prayer requests and answers to prayer. That’s all well and good, but any blank journal would work for that.

The Pour Out Your Heart Journal is designed to be a very personal prayer resource you develop for yourself over time.

The first section provides space for you to write scripture, song lyrics, quotes, poetry, or your own thoughts about the gospel as “a reminder of God’s grace and mercy.”

The second section is for promises. “Starting with the promises of God helps us know what to ask God for when we pray.”

Then there is plenty of space for prayers for family, friends, your local church, missionaries, and whoever else you regularly pray for. I like the way this section is designed, with one page designated for sticky notes that can change depending on current needs, followed by pages of blank lines for scriptures and long-term prayers.

I am already enjoying incorporating the Pour Out Your Heart Prayer Journal into my daily quiet time. I expect it will become a treasured keepsake over the years.
