My Review
I’m picky about devotional books. So many of the ones I pick up and flip through seem to be just so much fluff; platitudes I’ve heard so many times before. I love a devotional book that makes me think and challenges me in my walk with God.
Bread of Life is just such a book. The subtitle is: “Savoring the All-Satisfying Goodness of Jesus Through the Art of Bread Making.” This is not just your typical one-page-a-day devotional book. Each chapter might take 10 or 15 minutes to read and reflect, which is truly nourishing. I love that.
Besides the challenging devotional thought, each chapter includes a bread recipe with lots of detailed photos. I think I need to try them all!

The first one I have my eye on is the sourdough variation for Everyday Cottage Bread. I’ve been making sourdough bread for a while, but haven’t yet got my technique just right. Maybe this will help.

Bread of Life is a gorgeous hardback book with a ribbon marker, perfect for displaying decoratively in your coffee nook or on a side table, which makes it handy to pick up when you have a few moments for reflection in God’s Word.
