
Glazed Apple Cookies
A favorite cookie recipe for fall…
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/3 cups brown sugar
1 egg
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup apple juice
1 cup chopped raw apples
Beat sugar, shortening and egg, cream well. Add half dry ingredients and apples. Blend in juice. Add remaining flour mixture. Mix well. Drop on cookie sheet and bake in 400 degree oven. Spread with glaze while cookies are hot. Garnish with sprinkles if desired.

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 1/2 tablespoons apple juice
1 tablespoon butter
salt
vanilla

Yummy!!! They sound delish! I’m curious tho. Do they have a strong apple flavor?

Well, you can definitely taste the apple with the little chunks of apple in them, but they are really more like a spice cookie. Just a great recipe for fall!
