A Washington Story
Day 28 of our virtual road trip takes us north from Oregon to Washington. We currently live about 5 miles from the Washington state line. Spokane is our nearest “city” (about 20 miles away), and we go over there 2 or 3 times a month probably. I’ve never actually lived in Washington but it’s almost as if I have.
Funny story: a few years back, when we were looking at houses to buy, I told Lyle, “Don’t even think about crossing the state line!”
“Why?” he wanted to know.
“Because the homeschooling laws in Washington are much more stringent than they are in Idaho!”
Of course, that’s no longer an issue for us, since our girls are over 18 and have graduated, but we are currently happy in Idaho.
One of my favorite memories in Washington is our 25th anniversary “honeymoon” in November 2010 which we spent on Bainbridge Island, across the Sound from Seattle (on the western side of the state). Here are some pictures and posts from that trip:

Have you been to Washington? If so, please share a memory in the comments! That will make this series even more fun!

This is a really interesting post, just like all the others. The thing I learned is that you live 5 miles from Washington!! I had no idea, of course! You definitely are not old enough to have celebrated your 25th anniversary either! 😉
