A Conversation with Laura

A silly interview with my sweet daughter.

“Thank you for agreeing to be interviewed for my blog. Are you ready?”

“I guess. It better not be stupid.”

“Do you actually read my blog?”

“Mmm. I binge read it.”

“I understand you had a birthday recently.”

“Yeah.”

“How was that?”

“Birthday-ish. There was cake involved.”

“Do you like cake?”

“I love cake.”

“How old were you on your birthday?”

“Old enough to be your daughter.” *giggles* “Do your blog readers need to know that answer?”

“They might. Your future husband might be reading my blog.”

“Yeah? What’s his name?” *laughs* “He better treat me right… You ever hear that song? It’s called Dear Future Husband.”

“I don’t think I’ve heard that one. What do you do for a living?”

“I’m an expert sandwich builder extraordinaire. I make Mother Bread proud.  (The Panera logo is Mother Bread.)”

“I did not know that. What do you like to do for fun?”

“Shopping… drink coffee… long drives… on the beach… with a picnic… at sunset, of course.” *giggles* “What? Are you like, filling out an online dating profile for me?”

“No. But that would be funny.”

“Because I would like to be on BlondeGirlsUniteWithHopesOfFindingAPrinceCharming.com.”

“Is that a thing?”

“I don’t know.” *laughs*

“What is your great ambition in life?”

“To become a famous rock star? No. To become a world class barista.”

“Where do you see yourself in 5 years?”

“Is this a job interview now? I see myself in Hawaii, sitting on a beach, celebrating my birthday of 30 years. I mean, 29 years.”

“Yeah. 24 plus 5 is 29. Who taught you math anyway? Is there anything else you’d like to say to my readers?”

“I’d like to thank my sponsors. Coffee of any kind. Mazda for getting me places fast.”

The End.
